A Library for Modeling Belts and Drives with Modelica
Project Description
The Belts Library can be used to model all kinds of belt drives.
With the Belts Library it is possible to model all components of a belt drive, such as free and fixed pulleys, belt elements, wrap angles or single and double levers. The Belts Library contains simple contact models for flat belts and V-belts. Slippage is calculated based on the Eytelwein friction equation.
The Belts Library elements can be connected to different components of the Modelica Standard Library, thus it is possible to flange rotational mechanics elements of the Modelica Standard Library on the pulleys and levers.
On the "Modelica Conference 2008" in Bielefeld the library won the first price of the "Library Award" for a free Modelica library.
